International Winning Bloodlines

Welcome to Hillcrest Stud, we do hope you enjoy looking at our website.

Our passion is establishing and maintaining a stud of top quality international bloodlines that are able to compete at all levels. Prior to leaving the UK, our passion was National and International races. Whilst we have the greatest of respect for club, Federation and union winners, we wanted to focus on housing stock with National and International success in their blood.

Winning a federation or union is hard enough, so imagine the prestige attached to not only being first place in your own country, but first place of several competing countries.

Being from the UK, we could apply our knowledge of the UK and European racing results, to ensure we obtained the best bloodlines available to us. We first sourced birds from two of the most respected international winners in the United Kingdom, and probably the world, those being Mark Gilbert & Geoff & Catherine Cooper. As the stud has progressed these bloodlines are continually supplemented with other European birds with National and International winning bloodlines.

Following two very successful seasons racing in the Plettenberg Bay Pigeon Club and Eden Federation, the decision was made to focus our efforts on building a team of birds that could compete in one loft racing at the highest level. In addition, a few select birds would occasionally be offered for sale or auction.

As a progressive stud, we understand the need to continually improve our gene pool, and are constantly researching results and bloodlines to allow us to do this. We apply strict criteria before any birds are allowed into our breeding pens, we undertake this work so you, the fancier, does not have to.

Hillcrest Stud, is also proud of the fact our lofts are 100% antibiotic free, and have been since the stud was established. We are finding that each year that we remain free of medication, the pigeons keep getting stronger and stronger. We are firm believers that all of the birds should have an extremely high level of natural immunity, and this will be passed on down the generations, and help us produce birds with the strongest possible genetics. If a bird needs a supplement to stay healthy, then it has no place in our loft.

For those that have any doubt, check the results tab, in the last 3 years we have bred 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 12th in one loft final races, hotspot winners, and 5th, 6th, 18^th Ace birds in a loft of 1000 (we sent and initial entry of just 6 birds).
